This broom is living proof that backwoods Louisiana ambition + zero impulse control can still create magic… just not the kind you originally planned.
I set out to imitate a sleek $500 Japanese broom. What I got instead was this glorious, one-of-a-kind failure that somehow turned into pure witchy fun. The natural brown bristles are fanned and layered in an attempt at elegant structure (Louisiana does its best, y’all), then completely taken over by copper wire loops, sparkling clear crystals, tiny skulls, little glass vial charms, a brass key, dangling bells, and a crescent moon that clearly showed up uninvited and refused to leave. A soft white lace wrap finishes the base like it still wants to look fancy despite everything.
This is not a perfect Japanese broom.
This is a Not So Great Prop Maker broom — the beautiful result of aiming high, missing spectacularly, and deciding the chaos looked better anyway.
Witchy, a little gothic, and full of personality. The kind of broom that knows it was supposed to be refined… and is much happier being interesting.
