Handmade Witches’ Brooms
&
Custom Props
“Welcome to the workshop. I am a self-trained, overly enthusiastic madman with an overactive imagination and a dangerous amount of power tools and zero impulse control when it comes to gorilla glue. Think of this space as one part prop laboratory, one part chaotic testing ground. I am constantly pushing materials to their absolute limits, trying new techniques, and documenting the spectacular failures so you don’t have to. (Spoilers: some of them definitely will not work out, but that’s half the fun).
While George Lucas hasn't called me yet, I build handmade props for the real heroes: cosplayers, amateur filmmakers, Halloween fanatics, and fellow chaos gremlins who appreciate gear that looks like it survived a few good spells and a couple of bad decisions.
Whether you need an authentic, gnarled witch's broom that feels like it flew through a thunderstorm, a deeply unsettling creature for your indie horror short, or a custom set piece that looks like it has lived a real life, you came to the right basement.
Let's build something crazy. Or explode a canister of expanding foam trying.
My attempt to create these $500 Japanese brooms. Granted I wasn’t using shuro palm fiber (sounds like something I take to go poop) I had good ol’ dyed broom corn. FYI that stuff don’t braid well.
My attempt to create a Mon Calamari that was a foot soldier instead of the expected officer position. I decided to just create a new race, this is the Mon Octari. They live in the solar system next door to the planet Mon Cala. The Mon Calamari do not recognize them as a relative but find them expendable in battle.
PREVIOUS BUILDS, MY WORK AREA, SOME FAILURES
P-Tower build. Battle of Hoth. One of my best in my opinion. Sold off to someone with a paint ball shooting range. I had no room to store it.
People will ask what materials I use. Hell if I know. I can give you basics. Wood, plastic, sticks, grasses, glue. The periodic table laughs at me. When it comes to broom handles, its no difference. I’m no arborist. I see a limb that looks like a broom handle, I cut it. I’ve been banned from 3 national parks. Those sticks would certainly have been my finest work. Nothing is safe from getting attached to a witch broom. If I can mount a gas powered engine on one its getting built.
